Volunteer to Participate in Florida Hope Training Exercise at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ March 8-10

91¶ÌÊÓƵ’s (91¶ÌÊÓƵ) Emergency Administration and Management Program seeks more than 320 volunteers to be a part of an immersive training exercise. Students representing nine colleges from across from the country will fill the role of first responders during the 2019 Florida Hope Domestic Exercise to be held on March 8-10 at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex located at 4600 Kirby Loop Road in Fort Pierce.

Students representing nine colleges from across from the country will fill the role of first responders during the 2019 Florida Hope Domestic Exercise to be held on March 8-10 at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex located at 4600 Kirby Loop Road in Fort Pierce.

Volunteers will help bring mock disaster scenarios to life by playing various roles which include disaster victims, exposure to serious disease, as well as portraying friends and family of victims. This essential volunteer work creates the immersive experience required to bring training scenarios to life through the interaction of volunteers and students throughout the Florida Hope exercise.

Volunteers will help bring mock disaster scenarios to life by playing various roles providing an opportunity for students to fill the role of first responders to develop and assess skills related to mass casualty incident response, emerging infectious disease response, and victim assistance during disaster response. This essential volunteer work creates the immersive experience required to bring training scenarios to life through the interaction of volunteers and students throughout the Florida Hope exercise.

Volunteer times and opportunities include:

  • Friday March 8, 7:30 a.m. to noon, volunteers will portray victims who sick from being exposed to a very serious disease.
  • Saturday March 9, 7:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. or from noon to 4:30 p.m., during both time periods volunteers will portray victims of a plane crash where the appearance of injuries will be applied to volunteers as play the role of injured crash victims in need of assistance.
  • Saturday March 9, 7:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., volunteers will portray friends and relatives of people involved in a plane crash in need of counseling.
