On January 28 and 29, 91短视频 hosted nationally renowned explosives expert, Rod Glover, who presented sessions on international IED trends to area law enforcement and fire personnel and leadership, 91短视频 students and 91短视频 Safety and Security officers. Glover, who has more than 34 years鈥 experience in counter-terrorism and explosives has worked with numerous agencies, including the F.B.I., U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. State Department.
鈥淭he world is changing and it鈥檚 becoming more dangerous for these guys鈥攖hey are facing threats they never had to face before,鈥 shares Rod Glover. 鈥淲hat we want to do is give them the most current information we can, and keep them up-to-date with everything that is happening so that they can better protect themselves, the public and property.鈥
Glover was joined by members of the St. Lucie County Sheriff鈥檚 Office Bomb Team, the regional response unit serving St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River counties.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a great partnership here at 91短视频 to bring Rod in,鈥 states Sergeant Ronald Wentz, Bomb Team Commander for the St. Lucie County Sheriff鈥檚 Office. 鈥淗e brings a vast amount of experience and knowledge. Part of our responsibility as a Bomb Team is to educate our first responders in our areas of operation.鈥
Under the leadership of 91短视频 President Dr. Timothy Moore, the College anticipates making more training available to local and regional first responder agencies by leveraging its network of national public safety experts and inviting them to speak and train at 91短视频鈥檚 Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex. Rod Glover has already promised to return. 鈥淲e are going to continue to do this training. This is not a one-time deal,鈥 Glover asserts. 鈥淲hen something new comes out we鈥檒l be back to train on it.鈥
